Jengkal

Satu Jengkal Indonesia is a creative and research studio working at the intersection of culture, technology, and storytelling.

We document, research, preserve, and communicate stories through a combination of creative practice and digital technology. Our work brings together cultural research, documentary production, digital heritage documentation, publishing, web design, and visual storytelling.

We believe that culture is not only something to be preserved, but also something to be documented, interpreted, shared, and experienced in new ways. Through our projects, we work with researchers, cultural institutions, communities, artists, and organizations to transform knowledge and cultural materials into meaningful and accessible experiences.

Our work ranges from documentary films and video production to 3D documentation and photogrammetry, from books and digital publications to websites, digital archives, and research projects. Each project is approached with attention to context, accuracy, creativity, and the people whose stories and heritage we work with.

At Satu Jengkal Indonesia, we see technology as a tool for creating connections — between the past and the present, physical collections and digital spaces, researchers and communities, and local knowledge and global audiences.
